Every time you see a road safety sign, have you ever wondered how it’s made? Behind each sign is a series of precise steps, combining high-performance materials with advanced printing and finishing techniques. Here’s a quick look into how we produce these signs using our reflective films.
1. Reflective Film Production
It all starts with the raw reflective film for road sign, usually produced in rolls of 1.22m x 45.72m. We offer various grades—from commercial to diamond grade—and materials like PET and PMMA.
2. Confirm Design and Material
Once we receive your vector design file, we confirm the required grade of reflective film (e.g., Engineer Grade, High Intensity Prismatic, Diamond Grade, etc.).
3. Choose the Right Printing Method
Depending on the number of colors in your design, we select the most suitable printing process:
For designs with more than two colors, we use UV printing, which ensures vivid, detailed, and durable results.
For simple one- or two-color designs, screen printing is a more cost-effective choice.
4. UV Printing Process
When UV printing is used, the graphics are printed directly on the high-intensity reflective sheeting. After printing, the film is left to dry naturally. For enhanced durability, we recommend applying a UV protective overlay film, which can extend the sign’s lifespan by up to 5 more years.
5. Cutting and Packing
After printing and drying, the signs are cut to the required dimensions and carefully packed for delivery.
For Repeated Patterns (Arrows, Chevrons, Checkerboards)
We have two solutions:
A. Manual Screen Printing
Suitable for single or two-color signs
We custom-make a mold for the design
Film is cut into pieces using a slicing machine
Ink is mixed and printed manually by our trained workers
Cost-effective for simple, repeated patterns
B. Machine Screen Printing
The design is printed directly onto full rolls
Rolls are then cut into standard sizes
